Discontinuation Notice: Curlin New Tubing Guide Design

Dear Valued IMS Customer,

This is to advise you that the new Curlin blue tubing fitment guide is being discontinued and Curlin will be reverting back to the old design. Curlin is changing back to the old blue fitment design due to breakage of the new fitment piece and educational concerns. Curlin will not use this ‘new” design in the future.

Currently, the old design is not in inventory. The old design will be going back into production this month and will be in stock the first week of April. Once the old design is back in stock the new design will be removed if not already depleted.

• Born from the design of the Next Generation Pump (Dual Pump Design)
• IP/Patent considerations were involved.
• Tested with No Issues (Mechanical Tested the loading at a 180 degree/perfectly perpendicular). Was not Field Tested (human influence may load at various angles)
• 2 core issues: Molding Process and Part Design
• The New Design requires a renewed focus/education
• Short Term Plan: Revert back to Old/Original Tubing Design (2 PO’s of this part have already submitted)
• Old design in stock in April.
• In The Meantime: Video and Education on practicing load the Guide at a 180 degree angle with more focus on this step.
  • If inserted correctly, the Sets are OK and Infusions are able to be delivered. (Millions (1.2) of success stories of this being done correctly)
  • Moog is practicing Complaint Handling and Reporting Excellence
